Honestly, it started with annoyance
Annoyance at plastic-wrapped toilet paper made from trees. Annoyance that the "eco" options were scratchy and overpriced. We figured we could do better.
How EcoTickle actually started
We're a small Canadian business. Not a startup with venture funding, not a brand built by a marketing agency — just people who got fed up buying toilet paper that came wrapped in plastic, made from trees, and cost too much for what it was.
Bamboo kept coming up as the obvious alternative. It grows back on its own after harvest, doesn't need replanting, uses far less water than tree farming, and the end product is genuinely softer. We spent a long time finding a supplier we actually trusted, testing rolls until we were happy with them, and figuring out packaging that didn't involve a single gram of plastic.
EcoTickle ships across Canada. We're not trying to be the biggest bamboo toilet paper brand — we're trying to be the one people actually stick with because the product is good and the whole thing feels right.

Bamboo, not trees
Our bamboo is FSC-certified and harvested from managed groves. It regrows from its own root system after harvest — no replanting, no old-growth forests, no decades of waiting.
No plastic. Full stop.
Every roll ships in recycled paper wrap. The outer box is cardboard. We've never used plastic packaging and we're not going to. It's one of the things we're most stubborn about.
Nothing weird in the roll
No chlorine bleach, no dyes, no fragrances, no BPA. Just bamboo pulp. We don't think toilet paper needs to smell like lavender or be bright white to be good.
We're a small business
There's no celebrity behind this brand, no big ad spend, no warehouse full of investors waiting for an exit. Just a product we believe in and customers who come back because it works.
